SLPA - School-Based Speech-Language Pathology Assistant at Supplemental Health Care summary:

A School-Based Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) supports speech-language pathologists by assisting with student evaluations, implementing individualized education plans, and providing direct therapy services in a school setting. The SLPA collects and documents student performance data, working under the supervision of a licensed speech-language pathologist. This role requires an active SLPA license, relevant experience, and focuses on supporting students' communication needs within educational environments.

Speech-Language Pathology Assistant Contract Details:

  • $36.50 – $39 per hour
  • 42-week contracts
  • SLPA may assist SLP-CCC with evaluations and screenings.
  • SLPA will implement individualized education plan developed and directed by the supervising SLP
  • SLPA will provide direct therapy services addressing treatment goals developed by the supervising SLP to meet the needs of the student
  • The SLPA will be expected to collect data and document student performance and report its information in a timely manner

Requirements:

  • Active Texas SLPA license if required by that state
  • American Heart Association BLS
  • At least one year of recent relevant experience preferred
  • School experience is preferred but not required
